A little about me:
Hi there! I'm Kristen. Scott is my middle name (also my Maiden name) and I have 3 wonderful kids: Madi (12), Jake (9), and Sidney (7). I also have a great (very patient :-) husband, Doug.
Photography used to be a small hobby. Now it's a passion (Doug would describe it as more like an obsession) of mine to capture moments for people. It takes up a lot of time and is a lot of work, but I love it and am so happy I found this to enrich my life even more.
Over the past couple of years, I have been taking pictures for people and then trying to order and distribute pictures to them..... but what started as a once-in-awhile thing is getting bigger and more complicated....... so I needed a place to put all my photos so that anyone could feel free to order pictures without having to track me down with this crazy life of mine driving 3 kids every which way to all their activities!
This site is a great way for you to view photos of your child or family, choose sizes you would like to order in your basket, and then to pay directly to smugmug what you would like to order using a credit card on their secure site. They will ship your order directly to you. If you ever have any problems with an order, please let me know so that I can take care of it for you!
Ordering Photos:
It is really easy to view and order photos. When viewing a specific photo, on the top right corner of the photo there is a link that says "buy this photo" . Just click on that, and then pick which size you would like. (also check out the merchandise offerings for things like mugs, T-shirts, mouse pads, etc.) REMEMBER, sometimes there is a cropping factor, so be sure to view how much will be cropped off the sides of the picture for whichever size you are ordering and move the red cropping square to where you would like the lab to crop it for you. Also, if there is a picture that I have posted in color that you really need converted to Black & White, just email me and I can upload it within a few hours onto the gallery for you to purchase.
Security:
Every picture on my site is right click disabled so that no one can take or save them from my site. In addition, some of the galleries are password protected for extra security..... but the passwords are easy to figure out for the parents that are involved with these activities with the hints I've given.
Copywrite,CD's, and Email: I initially was not going to sell images on CD's. However, I have found that some really appreciate the freedom of being able to print at the lab of their choice. If you do wish to purchase reproduction rights for an image to be uploaded onto a CD, you are welcome to purchase that image for $50 dollars for EACH IMAGE.
I do not even like to have to say this part. But, Please do NOT copy or scan photos, as this is my livelihood, and I put a lot of time and effort into taking and editing the photos. It takes more time than you think. In addition, they are copywrited and it is unlawful. Thanks for your honesty!
Lastly, Thank you for allowing me to photograph your children...... it has really helped me grow as a photographer, and to become better at what I love to do. Please let me know if you do not want your childs pictures included in these galleries and I will take them down right away. Email me if you have any questions...... and I hope you enjoy looking through my site!
